Melissa Boher Jacobson

Melissa Boher Jacobson, founder of South Florida Singing Lessons,  has been teaching voice, acting, audition preparation for Theatre, Voice and Communications for middle, high school, college and beyond for over 20 years.  Her students includes a wide variety of highly accoomplished students as well as beginners.  She has an extensive background as a performer, writer, director, producer, educator, and coach, as well as a background in psychology.   Many of her students are currently performing on Broadway, in Broadway national tours, in national Pageants and even competing on America's Got Talent.  Melissa's students also include countless Bak and Dreyfoos School of the Arts students, as well as students at prestigious universities,  such as Penn State, Marymount Manhattan, University of Michigan, FSU, UCF and more.  Melissa specializes in teaching healthy singing in all styles, including Broadway, pop, classical, rock and more.  Her holistic and original techniques are tailored to the age of the students, and include music literacy, music and acting interpretation, and confidence building. She has served as an artist in residence at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts, as well as the resident Voice Teacher at the Weiss School for the Gifted, The Dance Arts Conservatory Broadway Stars Program and the Arts Garage.

John Lariviere

 

John Lariviere is one of the most sought after voice teachers in Palm Beach County. His students range from professional to beginner.   John recently worked at The Plaza Theatre where, as General Manager and Assistant Director of Education, he was heavily involved in all of the conservatory productions. Prior to that, John was a fine arts adjunct teacher at North Broward Preparatory School for seven years, where he was also the director of their private lesson program; and taught both their Theatre and Fine Arts camps during the Summer.  He also worked at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, for their Summer conservatory program, where he musically directed the shows: Cinderella, Once On This Island, Peter Pan, A Chorus Line, Rent, Once Upon a Mattress, Camp Rock the Musical, Cats, Aladdin and Free To Be You And Me; and was the music/voice teacher at the Fort Lauderdale Children's Ballet Theatre for six years.

John holds a degree in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green University and has taught voice and beginning piano throughout South Florida, including the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and North Broward Prreparatory School.
